With reference to Mr. Cowell's letter of the
30th June, 1932 (92663/32), I am directed to inform you that
the Selection Committee at their meeting on the 15th September
decided to recommend Miss Elinor Mary Beavis for appointment
as Kindergarten Mistress in the Hong Kong Education Department.
If for any reason it is not found possible to appoint Miss Beavis,
the Committee desire to recommend Miss Elfreda Nunneley Gilbert.
Particulars of the qualifications and experience of these
candidates will be found in the accompanying papers.
The Selection Committee were assisted on this occasion
by Mr. A. I. Mayhew and Mr. N.L. Smith, Director of Education
Hong Kong, who agreed with the above recommendations.
